Cooling yourself without air condition? Cooling breathing – Sheetali
Hot days are coming. When you are in the nice office with air condition, everything is fine. You just turn on the button and air is cool. You feel comfortable and you can do your job. But what you do, if you are out of office? Will you complain? Will you be nervous that you can do nothing? Here is the answer. With the exercise described here, you can cool yourself just by breathing. I will describe sheetali pranayama steps and benefits. The cooling effect is not the only benefit.

The first thing which comes to mind is when you want to cool yourself. As you see in the list above, there are also other benefits. Use this exercise wisely as there are some contraindications (see below).
- Sit in straight position
- Roll the tongue in the tubular form
- Inhale through the formed tongue. While you inhale, you feel how the air is cooling your tongue. Your inhalation should be slow.
- Exhale through the nose
- This was one round. Breathing like this should be for five minutes. This is enough to see the results.
You can find several ways how to make this exercise. Some yoga gurus want to make this exercise as properly as it is possible. But my opinion is we should take the main benefit. And it is the cooling during the exhalation. There are some other rules some of them more important, some of them less. It is surely important to sit in straight position.
- If you feel or have a cold, avoid this exercise as it is counter-productive
- In the case of low blood pressure, also do not make this exercise. This exercise is decreasing the blood pressure.
- When your neck is painful it is good not to exercise. The coolness is going to the neck also.
- Sometimes you can feel dizzy during the exercise. Then stop to practice and try later.
During hot days it is good to make this exercise. I know, I know. When the day is going, it is hard to remember what should you do. But give the chance to result coming. And it can be done only if you start to exercise. Firstly you will be surprised. Then, the exercises will be the part of your life.
